How to replace the battery in an EPOS D 10 headset

Follow these steps for the EPOS IMPACT D 10 HS or D 10 HS II headset. The battery is inside the headset, not the desk phone base.

Ask us about a replacement battery

Before you start

Check the headset model. The D 10 HS and D 10 HS II are covered by EPOS's illustrated battery removal guide. Use a genuine EPOS rechargeable battery specified for your exact headset. Ask us to check the part if the label or model is unclear. The battery for an SDW 10 HS is a different product; do not select it by the similar model name alone.

Work on a clean, dry surface. You may need a small plastic opening tool or a small flat screwdriver to release the compartment gently. Never puncture, crush or short-circuit the battery. If it is swollen, leaking or hot, stop and contact us for help.

Battery replacement steps

  1. Turn off and remove the headset. If the headset is active, hold its Link button for about five seconds to switch it off. Lift it off the charging base and remove the ear hook or headband.
  2. Open the battery compartment. Release the cover carefully at the headset body. Move the cover in the direction shown in EPOS's illustrated guide until the slight resistance is overcome. Open it slowly so the internal wires are not pulled or kinked.
  3. Disconnect the old battery. Lift the battery enough to reach its connector. Gently unplug the connector by its plug, without pulling on the wires. Remove the battery.
  4. Connect the replacement. Insert the connector of the correct original EPOS battery into the headset socket in the proper orientation. Do not force it. Set the battery in the compartment and keep the wires clear of the cover and clips.
  5. Close and reassemble. Refit the compartment cover until it clicks securely into place. Reattach the ear hook or headband. Check that no wires are trapped.
  6. Charge and test. Place the headset in its powered base. Allow at least 20 uninterrupted minutes of charging before the first use; a full charge takes about one hour. Check the charge status indicator, then make a test call. If the headset does not link to the base, leave it in the base to pair and check the charging contacts.

If the new battery does not charge

  • Confirm that the base has power and the headset sits properly in its magnetic charging holder.
  • Check that the battery connector is fully seated and the correct battery was supplied.
  • Clean the headset and base charging contacts gently with a dry cotton swab.
  • If the old battery was deeply discharged, allow several minutes before the base charge indicator responds.
