Installing Yealink WH64 and WH64 Workstation with EHS62 on Polycom Phones
Important: before the first charge
Slide the headset’s power switch down from the OFF position to the Bluetooth position before placing the headset on its charging base.
Installing WH64 and WH64 Workstation with EHS62
Connect your Yealink WH64 or WH64 Workstation headset to a compatible Polycom / Poly phone using the EHS62 adapter. This setup allows you to answer and end calls from your headset.
Before you start
Confirm that your exact phone model supports Yealink EHS62 and has the required EHS connector. Have your WH64 headset and base, supplied power adapter, EHS62 adapter, cable B and cable E ready.
1. Enable EHS on the Polycom phone
On supported VVX phones, open:
Settings > Basic > Preferences > Headset > Hookswitch Mode
Select Jabra or Sennheiser, as specified by Yealink. Save your changes and allow any requested restart. Menu names vary by model. Contact your phone provider if this setting is missing or locked.
2. Power the base and connect EHS62
Connect the supplied WH64 power adapter to the base and a wall outlet. Dock the headset to charge.
Plug the EHS62 adapter’s attached Mini-USB lead into the AUX port on the WH64 or WH64 Workstation base.
- Cable B — audio: connect the small EHS62 socket to the phone’s RJ9 headset jack, identified by a headset icon.
- Cable E — call control: connect the large EHS62 socket to the phone’s dedicated EHS connector using the 5-pin end.

Use the AUX port: the base’s Micro-USB or USB-C phone port is for direct USB connections. EHS62 connects to the Mini-USB AUX port. Keep the phone’s handset plugged into its original handset jack.
3. Test the headset
- Turn on the headset and lower the microphone. On the Workstation, select the connected desk-phone source if needed.
- Place an outgoing call using the phone’s headset key. Confirm that both parties can hear clearly.
- Ask someone to call your extension and check that you hear the incoming-call alert.
- Press the headset’s call-control button once to answer and again to end the call.
- Repeat the test a short distance from the desk, keeping the handset on its cradle.
Quick troubleshooting
- Audio works, but remote answering does not: confirm Jabra or Sennheiser hookswitch mode and check cable E.
- No audio: check cable B in the headset jack and EHS62 in the base’s AUX port.
- The caller cannot hear you: lower the microphone, unmute the headset and repeat the test.
- No incoming-call alert: check EHS mode, cable E, headset charge and phone compatibility.
- Still having problems: contact support to check the phone, base and EHS62 firmware.
Compatibility: this guide applies to compatible EHS-equipped Polycom / Poly models. It does not apply to every Poly phone or to the WH64 Hybrid dongle version.
